German Pork Knuckle - Schweinehaxe (Roasted Pork Shank - Hock)
Переглядів 25 тис.11 років тому
This recipe was based on Max Dietz's Pork Knuckle recipe on German Food Safari (www.sbs.com.au/food/recipe/622/Pork-knuckle-and-potato-dumplings) Get the hock from the rear leg - mine was 1.7kg and cost $7.00 lol The only thing I would do differently: 30 mins at 250deg 90 mins at 160deg (i did 120 mins and it just could have been a tad more succulent)

It is a good thing that some of these were left out because it seems like it would have stretched the plot or made some of them appear weak.

Hahaha dude was mighty casual about loosing his cartel boss, a million big ones 😅 "it happens, woops, I had it and then I didn't". I don't know what he was thinking going back to his bosses empty handed, after botching a big score like that and bringing the heat down on them. Dude should've laid low or got on the first plane out of town. But his boss must've liked him, he checked up on him when he came in and even gave him a quick death. You'd think after a cock up like that, dudes in for a slow, agonizing medevial style toreture.

Totally sexist and ridiculous! BUT i could not get enough of Hoges growing up in the 70's. My dad did not let me watch it but I snuck into the lounge to watch when I was about 8 years old. Love the George Negus impersonation. He was a great 60 Minutes reporter.

I remember one Friday evening as a kid back in the 80s sitting upstairs in my bedroom. I could hear my parents roaring laughing together which they never did back then. I went downstairs to discover them watching the Paul Hogan show which was airing for the first time on the UK. Both are gone now but this brought back sweet memories.

I got to see Hoges in the early 80's when i moved back to the UK. This comedy is gold and although possibly iffy, might still survive. The Benny Hill (rip) bit was priceless. The world has moved a long way forward so that many of these gags are seen as offensive but back in the day when they were on tv, no one cared. We've turned into a society of accepting everyone and that's fine. Today, everyone has a motive and we'll never see such comedy again Can you imagine Eddie Murphey Raw being released now?? These are comedic moments of genius that unfortunately will never see again. Social media has a lot to answer for. They're the one who post about things. I heard as many women laughing at Murphy as I did men. People are just too sensitive these days. I'm sure I'll get pelters for this post but sod it.

One of Breaking Bad's primary inspirations was the Sopranos, which was chock-full of hallucinatory scenes like this. Before Breaking Bad's signature style got established, hints of that influence trickled in. Like Walter's hallucination of Skyler while in the trunk being kidnapped by Tuco, or mishearing his student say murder, etc.
